Build permanent progress deliberately
Rebirth is the bridge between a strong current run and longer-term growth. The official Mitosis description confirms that rebirth grants Tokens and opens a giant Skill Tree. The decision should still come from your live preview: it shows whether you are ready, the Token offer, and the money bonus before and after the restart.
Rebirth Guide
Open the preview, compare the offer, understand known resets and carry-over items, and decide whether rebuilding is worth it now.
Skill Tree Guide
Read node costs and connections, then choose automation, stronger starts, value, Token power, or card space by your current goal.
Tokens Guide
Compare current Token sources and reserve a balance for a specific node, card, or reroll instead of spending without a plan.
The key progression rule is to separate current-run resources from persistent decisions. Cash buys the three basic lab upgrades during a run. Tokens buy or support longer-term systems. Cards, player level, and other progress may have their own carry-over rules. Never infer one system’s reset behavior from another.
Read the rebirth preview before committing
Open the circular-arrow Rebirth control on the left side of the main screen. Current walkthrough captures show a TOKENS panel with a READY state, the reward offered by a rebirth now, and a comparison between MONEY NOW and AFTER REBIRTH. Opening the panel does not commit the action, so use it as a planning screen.
If the panel is not ready, read the remaining requirement rather than guessing. Continue the split, sell, and upgrade loop until the preview changes. If it is ready, compare the offered Tokens with the cost of your next goal. A rebirth that funds a useful node can be easier to justify than one that leaves you short and forces another complete rebuild.
Before pressing the final REBIRTH control, note the current cash, three basic upgrade levels, card loadout, player level, and Token balance. That record makes it easier to see what changed and protects you from assuming an unrelated item was lost.
What currently carries over and resets
Community-captured first-rebirth examples show cash returning to zero and Ball Value returning to its starting level. Without a stronger-start skill, the basic Split Speed and Capacity upgrades also restart at their base state. Player level, XP progress, and cards purchased in the Card Shop were shown carrying over.
Quick Start changes the beginning of the next run by improving the starting Split Speed and Capacity shown in current captures. It does not make Ball Value permanent in those examples. Read the node description and the post-rebirth panels in your server because exact levels and timings are balance-sensitive.
Rebuild items
Cash and the three basic cash upgrades are the main current-run systems to inspect. Quick Start can alter part of that starting state.
Carry-over items
Current captures show player level, XP progress, and purchased cards remaining. Confirm the live warning before a later update.
Preview-dependent values
Token reward and before/after money bonus belong to your current preview. Do not copy an example offer as a universal reward.
The rebirth guide expands this into a pre-commit checklist and recovery route.
Give every Token a job
Tokens can support Skill Tree purchases, Card Shop purchases, rerolls, and other progression options shown by the live interface. They are valuable because several systems compete for the same balance. Decide whether your next goal is automation, a stronger reset, a card, a card slot, or improved Token scaling before spending.
Auto-Split is a low-entry automation goal in current community captures. It reduces repeated manual input, but it does not automatically choose the best sale time or solve Capacity. Quick Start is a different goal: it improves the beginning of a new run. Card purchases affect a loadout. A reroll changes shop offers without buying the card you ultimately want.
Use the tokens guide to compare sources and build a reserve. Always use the price displayed in your server; costs quoted from a capture are examples tied to the check date.
Navigate the Skill Tree by branches
Open SKILL TREE at the top of the main screen. Select or hover a node to read its full name, effect, Token price, connection, and ownership state. A short label may differ from the expanded name. Follow visible connecting lines instead of assuming every node is immediately purchasable.
The central route starts with Auto-Split in current captures. Revealed branches include stronger starting progress, value, card-slot, and Token-related choices. Later branches can reveal starting-ball controls and a separate mutation upgrade area. Choose a branch for a concrete problem:
- Pick automation when manual splitting is the obstacle.
- Pick stronger starts when rebuilding after rebirth consumes most of the session.
- Pick value when payout per cell is the limiting factor.
- Pick a card slot when a proven additional card matters more than another production node.
- Pick Token power when the live description and your rebirth plan justify the long-term cost.
The skill tree guide provides a currently documented node index and explains the purchase controls.
Choose a rebirth moment
A sensible rebirth moment has three parts: the preview is ready, the reward advances a named permanent goal, and you are willing to rebuild the cash upgrades. If any part is missing, close the panel and continue the current run.
Do not rebirth simply because the button appears. A larger current-run payout may improve the offer, while an event or nearly completed challenge may be worth finishing first. Conversely, do not hold a run indefinitely if its next cash upgrades add little and the offered Tokens unlock the exact node you need.
Compare the time required to rebuild with the benefit after restart. Quick Start can reduce that friction. A stronger Ball Value or Token-related node can change income. A card slot only helps when you have another card worth equipping.
Recover after a reset
After rebirth, verify the Token balance and money bonus first. Then inspect Ball Value, Split Speed, and Capacity. If Quick Start is owned, compare the live starting state with the node description. Begin with short production cycles until the right-side upgrades are affordable again.
Do not spend the entire Token reward reflexively. If the intended node costs more than you have, keep the reserve intact and use ordinary cash only for run upgrades. If you are buying a card, open the Card Shop and verify the exact offer before spending on a reroll.
Reconnect the systems gradually. Re-enable AUTO only if you want automatic splitting. Choose the starting-ball chip only if that skill is owned and the control is visible. Then return to mutations, challenges, or event timing once the core production loop feels stable.
Source note, checked October 20, 2026: rebirth, Tokens, and the giant Skill Tree are official systems. Menu locations, carry-over examples, and node details are community reported from current interface captures and should be checked against the live warning before spending or resetting.
Frequently asked questions
Does rebirth reset everything?
No. Current captures show cash and basic cash upgrades restarting while player level, XP progress, and purchased cards carry over. Read the current confirmation panel because later updates can change the boundary.
Are Token rewards fixed?
No. Use the offer shown under the current rebirth preview. Example rewards describe one captured account state, not a universal formula.
Should I buy Auto-Split or Quick Start first?
They solve different problems. Auto-Split automates repeated splitting. Quick Start improves part of the post-rebirth starting state and requires the relevant branch. Choose by the obstacle slowing you now.
Can I undo a Skill Tree purchase?
Do not assume a free respec. Read the live tree for refund or reset controls before committing. If none is shown, treat the purchase as a lasting choice.
