Turn the normal loop into a planned run

The official Mitosis description confirms challenges, Bosses, and collectible cards. Current walkthrough captures show challenges as three-goal sets with a limited number of SELL attempts and a Boss restriction on the third goal. The familiar split-and-sell loop still matters, but each sale becomes a budgeted decision.

A challenge target is not the same as your wallet balance. Read the progress credited to the current goal. A settlement or CASH OUT amount can also differ from the target. Keeping these values separate prevents you from assuming that a large wallet guarantees the next goal.

Enter only after reading the setup

Open CHALLENGE when its entry becomes available. Select an unlocked difficulty, review the displayed goal and Boss rules, and then start. Current community captures show Easy, Normal, and Hard choices with different pressure and shop tradeoffs. Use the descriptions in your live server because balance percentages and unlock requirements can change.

The status above SPLIT and SELL identifies GOAL 1 OF 3, GOAL 2 OF 3, or GOAL 3 OF 3. It also shows progress toward the cash target and the remaining TRIES. Read all three before selling. Splitting usually builds the batch without consuming a sale attempt; SELL is the action to budget.

A useful preparation check asks: how much goal value remains, how many tries remain, and how large a batch can you build before the next sale? Divide the remaining requirement by the attempts only as a planning floor. Mutation values, card effects, and Boss restrictions can make actual credited earnings differ.

Protect limited tries

Small exploratory sales are affordable in ordinary production. Inside a challenge, they can end a run. Build enough cells to make each sale meaningful, especially when the third goal removes a try or weakens part of the payout.

After every sale, read the updated goal bar. Do not assume the next sale will add the same amount. A card may trigger, a restriction may change the credited value, or the batch composition may differ. With one try left, plan to cover the full remaining gap rather than relying on a chance-based effect.

If a card such as Second Wind can preserve some tries, treat the visible TRIES counter as the truth after the sale. Do not budget an attempt as “free” before the effect actually happens.

Read the Boss as a rule, not an enemy health bar

The Boss stage is the third goal’s added restriction. Community captures currently document five rule patterns:

Short Fuse

One fewer SELL attempt. Build larger batches and avoid low-contribution sales.

Cold Snap

Splits take longer. Allow the full timer and plan around fewer production cycles.

Half-paying balls

Only part of the batch contributes. Judge progress by the goal bar after each sale.

Blackout

Your first card is disabled during the Boss stage. Inspect card order before starting.

Dry Start

The first SELL pays zero. Include that rule in the attempt budget before committing.

These names and behaviors are community reported as of the check date. Read the exact BOSS line in your server because wording and difficulty scaling can change. The bosses guide explains the response to each restriction.

Finish the set and use the Card Shop

Clearing a goal can show a CASH OUT settlement. Completing the third goal finishes the set and can open the Card Shop. Rewards can include cash, Tokens, or cards, but one captured reward is not a fixed reward table. Read the result shown for your clear.

In the Card Shop, select a card before buying it. Compare its effect, form, rarity, price, and how it fits your current loadout. A reroll spends Tokens without purchasing the next card, so do not reroll when the card you want is already visible but just beyond your balance.

Open MY CARDS to inspect owned cards. Current walkthroughs report left-to-right activation order, which makes arrangement relevant. If a Boss disables the first card, that order matters even more. Confirm the order behavior after updates.

Choose cards by purpose

Cash cards can improve direct sale value, repeated sales, or specific conditions. Mutation cards can improve discovery opportunities. Cooldown cards can reduce waiting. Protection cards can change Rotten behavior. Challenge cards can preserve attempts or improve results under restricted rules.

Do not rank every card on one scale. A card with the highest direct money number can be less useful than Rotten protection when infection is ruining the batch, or less useful than a challenge effect when TRIES is the bottleneck. The cards list groups currently documented cards by the decision they help.

Legendary-card restrictions and sell-back rules are particularly important. Current captures describe only one Legendary held at a time and no return when selling one back. Verify the live warning before replacing a valuable card.

Failure and recovery

Failing a challenge does not mean you should immediately repeat the same route. Review the last goal’s remaining amount, the tries spent, the active Boss rule, and the batch size of each sale. Change one factor at a time.

If you ran out of tries, make fewer, larger sales. If split time prevented a full batch, invest in Split Speed before returning or adapt to the Cold Snap timer. If half-paying balls caused the shortfall, use the credited progress rather than raw batch value. If Blackout removed a crucial card, change the first slot or plan without that effect.

If a difficulty is locked, read the displayed wins or requirements. Do not infer that beating one set automatically selects the next difficulty. Choose the difficulty again from the available options.

Source note, checked October 20, 2026: challenges, Bosses, and cards are official systems; the universe badge catalog also includes Gauntlet, Bird Down, Boss Buster, In The Cards, Full Hand, and Full Deck. Detailed goal flow, Boss restrictions, and card behavior are community reported from current captures.

Frequently asked questions

How many goals are in a challenge set?

Current walkthrough captures show three goals, with the third carrying a Boss restriction. Confirm the stage indicator in the live challenge bar.

Does every SELL consume a try?

A normal challenge sale consumes one try in current captures. Some effects can preserve a try, so read the counter after the action rather than assuming.

Is CASH OUT the same as the goal target?

No. The target is the credited requirement. CASH OUT is a settlement display and should be read separately.

Are Bosses combat fights?

The documented Boss stage acts as a production restriction on the third challenge goal. Follow the BOSS rule shown in the interface instead of expecting a conventional health bar.
