Identify the correct Blood Moon
Blood Moon is explicitly named as an event in the official Mitosis description. Blood Moon is also a mutation name in current community collection captures. That overlap makes identification more important than guessing a bonus from a red screen or a ball label.
An event belongs to the live environment. Look for an announcement, a named event display, a countdown, or effect text that applies to the current session. A mutation belongs to a specific cell or collection entry and should be read through its mutation details. One does not prove that the other is active.
Public material checked for this page does not establish a dependable Blood Moon event multiplier, duration, trigger, or reward. That is not a reason to invent one. Use the route below to make good decisions from the live UI and to avoid mixing the event with the mutation.
Use the event identification checklist
1. Read the heading
Confirm that the active environment display says Blood Moon. Color and lighting alone are not enough.
Official event name2. Find the timer
Record the remaining countdown if one is visible. Keep it separate from split, upgrade, and challenge timers.
Duration not frozen3. Read the effect
Use the exact live sentence to decide whether to split, sell, collect, or observe. Do not fill in missing text from another event.
Mechanic requires live UI4. Note the context
Check whether a challenge, card, mutation, or second weather event is changing the same action.
Overlap possible5. Compare before and after
Record balances, goal progress, and collection state before one action, then compare the result.
Session evidenceThis checklist remains useful after balance changes because it depends on the current server rather than an old fixed number.
Separate the event from the mutation
Blood Moon event
Shown as a temporary server or environmental state. It should have a named event context and may have its own countdown or effect text.
Blood Moon mutation
Shown on a specific mutated ball or in the mutation collection. Its identity can remain after an event timer ends.
If a Blood Moon ball appears, inspect the mutation entry and note how it was discovered, but do not conclude that every active Blood Moon event guarantees that mutation. Conversely, owning or seeing the mutation does not prove a server event is running.
The official badge catalog includes mutation milestones such as Mutant, Fusion, Mutation Dex, and Omni-Tosis. Those badges support mutation progression broadly but do not document a Blood Moon event recipe or guaranteed result.
Decide what to do from the live effect
If the Blood Moon panel explicitly improves mutation opportunities, keep splitting while Capacity permits and record newly discovered entries. If it explicitly improves sales, prepare a valuable batch and finish SELL before its timer expires. If it displays a collection counter, follow that counter and watch for confirmation when an object is collected.
If no effect text is visible, continue the normal loop and observe one variable at a time. Do not spend a limited challenge try, reset through rebirth, or sell a rare card merely to test an unsupported theory. Low-risk observation is enough until the interface provides a rule.
When an effect uses a percentage or multiplier, capture the exact text and date. Compare the same action before and during the event where practical. Abbreviated cash values can hide small differences, so the interface statement is stronger evidence than a rounded visual estimate.
Handle a challenge during Blood Moon
A challenge goal and its Boss rule remain active even when the environment changes. Read the goal, progress, TRIES, and BOSS line first. Then decide whether the Blood Moon effect actually helps the constrained action.
If the event supports splitting, it may help build a stronger batch, but Cold Snap can still lengthen the cycle. If it supports selling, Short Fuse still makes each try valuable. If half-paying balls are active, the challenge bar after the sale is the only safe measure of credited progress.
Do not use Dry Start as an event test: a documented zero-value first Boss sale would make the result difficult to interpret and may waste a try. Run low-risk observations outside a limited attempt when possible.
Handle overlapping events
Current Mitosis community captures show independent weather timers overlapping. A new announcement does not necessarily cancel Blood Moon. Keep every named timer separate and wait for its own ending state.
If Gold Rush is also visible, use the Gold Rush effect text and countdown for sale decisions. If Meteor Shower is active, keep its TOKENS counter in view while observing Blood Moon. Do not attribute a cash increase, Token pickup, or mutation to Blood Moon merely because both events were active.
Choose one primary objective when the screen becomes crowded. For cash, follow an explicit sale bonus. For Tokens, follow the Meteor Shower counter. For mutation discovery, track the affected cells and collection entry. This prevents one event’s visible result from being assigned to another.
Record a useful session result
Write down the server time, event heading, exact effect text, starting timer, any overlapping event names, and the action taken. Then record the wallet, Token balance, challenge progress, and mutation result before and after. A short controlled observation is more useful than a long session with several upgrades and card changes.
Repeat only if the action is safe. Two consistent observations are stronger than one, but they still may not prove a universal rate. Updates, cards, account progression, or server variations can change the outcome.
If you share the result, label it as a dated observation rather than a permanent rule. This helps other players compare the same interface without turning one session into false certainty.
Troubleshoot a missing display
If the sky or lab looks different but no Blood Moon heading appears, check for another named event and wait for an announcement. The visual could belong to weather, lighting, or an effect unrelated to Blood Moon.
If the event title appears without readable details, close overlapping panels and inspect the upper interface again. Avoid rejoining solely to chase a supposed bonus unless you are willing to lose the current server state. If a countdown ends, stop attributing later results to the event.
If a guide elsewhere promises a fixed multiplier or recipe, compare it with the live panel. This page intentionally leaves those fields unclaimed because the current public evidence does not support them.
Source note, checked October 20, 2026: Blood Moon is an official event name. Blood Moon also appears as a community-documented mutation name. Exact event effect, duration, trigger, reward, and any relationship to the mutation still need in-game verification; overlap behavior is drawn from current weather walkthrough captures.
Frequently asked questions
Does Blood Moon guarantee the Blood Moon mutation?
No guaranteed relationship is established here. Treat the event and the mutation as separate systems unless the live game explicitly connects them.
What is the Blood Moon multiplier?
No dependable current multiplier was found in the checked public material. Read the live event effect instead of using an invented number.
Should I sell during Blood Moon?
Sell for the event only when the current effect explicitly supports that action and the batch is ready. A challenge sale may still consume a limited try.
Can Blood Moon overlap other weather?
Current captures support overlapping weather generally. Track every visible named timer and avoid assigning one event’s result to another.
